When adding subscriptions or purchasing products from a child, you have the option to invoice the child or invoice the parent. To set the default behaviour of the invoice owner, see Setting Account Hierarchy Billing Preferences.
A parent customer can only invoice itself and cannot invoice the child.
To set the invoice owner when adding a subscription or product
- Add a subscription or product to the child customer as usual.
- On the Add Subscription page, in the Subscription Details section, select an Invoice Owner.
- Click Save.
If a parent is selected the invoice will appear on the parent customer and will not be displayed on the child customer. A child customer can have their own subscriptions that they are invoiced for. These will be displayed on the child customer overview page.
Note: Unified invoices are only available for one generation. Payment sharing is available for four generations.
