Two Big Features in Limited Release!!
Over the past few weeks our team has been working on two significant new features called "Subscription Updater" and "Projected Invoices". Both of these features are in "Limited Release" right now, which means they are being enabled gradually across our customer base according to specific customer needs as well as to minimize disruption to the Fusebill platform.
What this means to you: If you haven't already heard from Fusebill Support or Product Management about enabling these features, it means you're in the queue, stay tuned! If you believe you have an urgent need for one or the other, please file a request through Fusebill Support and we will prioritize your request accordingly. In most cases, we will enable the feature in your Staging or Sandbox account first and ask you to run some tests before enabling it on your Production account.
Otherwise, watch your Fusebill account over the coming weeks and soon you will see the features enabled. You can read up on them at the help links outlined below in the meantime. You will receive an automated notification from Fusebill Support when the feature(s) have been enabled in your account.
Add New Products to Existing Subscriptions (*Limited Release*)
The "Subscription Updater" feature allows you to add new products to your customers' existing subscriptions. This new functionality is available in the Plans section of the Catalog settings.
Note that this feature operates in a "job scheduling" format, with the updates happening in the background. We strongly recommend that you read the documentation on the feature (see Add a New Product to Existing Subscribers) before you start using it.
Future plans for the Subscription Updater include the ability to make pricing changes, name changes, and so on.
Projected Invoices (*Limited Release*)
The "Projected Invoices" feature will automatically create a draft version of the next scheduled invoice for each subscription in your customer base. These invoices can be viewed in the UI and downloaded to PDF.
Changes in subscriptions and settings (for example, increases in usage-metered products; changes in taxation rules; addition/removal of products) will be reflected on the projected invoices in near real-time so that you can see the impact of these changes.
This version of the feature does not yet include the automated email notification option to send these invoices out in advance of their posting date; we are currently planning this enhancement into our roadmap.
